From the charm of Manchester, Magical Castles in Edinburgh, beauty in the Lake District, the energy of London, to the history of Oxford, the seaside fun of Brighton, this adventure blends culture, excitement, and independence in true L&E style.

Travel with purpose- Our trips go beyond sightseeing. Young people explore destinations while learning about cultures, gaining travel skills and encourage students to step out their comfort zones.
Balance of learning and adventure- We combine educational experiences, discovery and exciting activities and group tasks. Students can visit the iconic landmarks all while experiencing local traditions and making new friends in a supportive travel environment.
Designed specifically for young people- Every programme is created around the interests of young people. Our trained Travel mentors understand how to make the travel engaging, exciting and age-appropiate, while ensuring everyone is included and supported.
Communication- Eat, sleep and communicate in English throughout the whole trip, practising language

What will they learn?
Cultural understanding- Students explore British history, traditions, customs and everyday life, developing a deeper understanding of the communities and cultures they visit. They get such a broad experience of life in Scotland, to the Lake District and London and Oxford, it’s all very different!
Historical Knowledge- Visits to landmarks and museums bringing history to life and helping them connect to what they have learnt in a classroom, to seeing it first hand.
Independance and life skills- Students develop confidence in navigating a new enviroment, managing their time and making decisons in a quick-paced enviroment.
Language development- By communicating with staff and others from many countries, students have the chance to practise authenic English in everyday situations.
Social and leadership- Through group challenges and tasks they develop teamwork, communication and problem-solving abilities.
Global awareness- Travel encourages curiousity about the world, helping students be open minded and more culturally aware.

- Arrival is into Southampton or London (your choice) and departure is from Manchester (included in price)

2 Week Schedule
Day 1: Manchester: Culture and Creativity
- Arrive in Manchester and settle into accommodation
- Explore the Northern Quarter
- Visit Afflecks and discover independent shops, art and fashion
- Complete a city orientation walk
- Enjoy a welcome activity and group dinner
Day : 2 Manchester: Music, History and Science heritage
- Take part in a guided Manchester music tour
- Discover the city’s connection to Oasis and The Smiths
- Visit independent record shops and music landmarks
- Go to the Science and Industry Museum and explore the industrial and scientific heritage
- Enjoy some supervised free time in the city
- World food evening! The travellers each create a dish inspired from their home country for the group to try
Day 3: Manchester to the Lake District
- Travel by train from Manchester Piccadilly to Oxenholme Lake District
- Transfer to the beautiful lake-side yurt accommodation
- Explore the shores of Lake Windermere
- Enjoy a scenic lakeside walk and swimming
- Take part in a group reflection activity on what we have learnt so far and how it is going
Day 4: Lake District: Waterfall scrambling
- Meet our qualified outdoor instructors
- Learn scrambling techniques and safety
- Develop navigation, teamwork and problem-solving skills for the scrambling
- Complete a supervised scrambling experience (climbing through freshwater lakes and waterfalls, shallow water and optional)
- Reflect on the experience and how it built our confidence
Day 5: Lake District: Beautiful waters and nature
- Visit Grasmere and the surrounding areas
- Enjoy a scenic nature walk
- Explore the area’s landscapes, wildlife and local history
- Take part in a photography activity, photographing and showing us what nature has to offer
- Enjoy a relaxed BBQ evening lakeside
Day 6: Lake District to Edinburgh
- Travel by train to Oxenholme Lake District to Edinburgh Waverley
- Settle into accommodation in Edinburgh
- Explore the Royal Mile and Holyroodhouse
- Enjoy and introductory walk through Edinburgh’s Old Town
- Climb Arthurs seat to see the panoramic views
- Dinner at a local Scottish restaurant
Day 7: Edinburgh: Private castle experience
- Take part in a guided tour through Edinburgh Castle, where many of the monarchs have stayed
- Explore the Great Hall and Crown Square
- Discover the Honours of Scotland
- Learn about Mary Queen of Scots and royal history
- Explore Edinburgh’s military heritage
- Evening tour exploring the underground dungeons
Day 8: Edinburgh to London: Iconic Landmarks
- Travel by train from Edinburgh Waverley to London
- Visit Westminster and the Houses of Parliament
- See Big Ben and Westminster Abbey
- Walk through St James Park
- Visit Buckingham Palace
- Explore Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden
- Dinner in Chinatown
Day 9: Oxford: University and punting
- Take part in a guided Oxford university tour from an Oxford student of the famous colleges and library (also see where they filmed some of Harry Potter)
- Learn about student life, academic traditions and university history
- Explore historic college buildings and courtyards
- Enjoy a traditional punting experience on the River Cherwell
- Visit the covered market for dinner
- Reflect on our academic goals and future opportunities
Day 10: London: History
- Visit the Tower of London
- Explore Tower Bridge and surrounding riverside area
- Visit the British Museum
- Enjoy supervised shopping and free time
Day 11: Brighton Beach
- Explore Brighton Pier and the seafront
- Enjoy time on the beach
- Discover The Lanes and independent shops
- Enjoy an evening walk and traditional fish and chips
Day 12: Group Choice
- Free choice day!
- Inspiration- Theme Park, Waterpark, Harry Potter Studios, Aquarium…
Day 13: Winchester Town
- Explore the local town of Winchester
- Visit the beautiful Cathedral
- Final souvenir shopping
- Pack ready for next day departure
- Farewell dinner and final reflections on the trip and what we have learnt
