Monday 14th July

๐Ÿ“… Day 1 at Camp!!
We kicked off the first day of camp with a high-energy game of dodgeball to get everyone moving and laughing!
~
For majority of the day campers were split into their chosen activities:
Creative made awesome friendship bracelets in the morning with beads, threads, and lots of colorful knots. In the afternoon they got messy with paper and glue as they began building volcanoes for their experiments.
Sports ran their own mini Olympics in the morning with Team Italy won the gold Medal in the end and in the afternoon they played some football
Adventure spent their morning learning and practising their archery skills and their afternoon was spent on high ropes with climbing some campers were flabbergasted by how high they climbed after feeling so scared!
Campers learning English in the morning got to learn new vocabulary, practiced country names, and improved their speaking skills through fun games and group work.
~
After a day full of activities, everyone enjoyed free time by the pool swimming, jumping, and even learning how to swim for the first time!
Dinner was delicious, and after a little phone time to call home and text friends, we moved into our evening activities: silent line-up games, themed singing, dress-up relay races and to finish it off a hilarious game of Stuffy Bunny that ended with some very determined campers.
Everyone headed to bed tired, happy, and excited for Day 2! โœจ๏ธ

Tuesday 15th July

We kicked off Day 2 with another energetic game of dodgeball, itโ€™s quickly becoming a camp favorite!

Campers then split into their usual activity groups for a full day of fun:
๐Ÿ€ Sports played both badminton and basketball

๐ŸŒ YGL (Young Global Leaders) began, with campers joining in leadership activities
๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™‚๏ธ Adventure hit the water for an afternoon of canoeing, a perfect way to cool off, explore, and enjoy the outdoors.

We gathered around the campfire, toasted marshmallows, and watched as the staff performed hilarious skits and talents for the campers! One camper even shared a spooky story that gave everyone goosebumps. The perfect ending to a fun-filled day.

Wednesday 16th July

Day 3 started withโ€ฆyou guessed it..another round of dodgeball!!

Hereโ€™s what our campers got up to during the day:
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ English took a trip to Eastleigh, where campers were given a ยฃ10 budget and a list of grocery items. They had to ask locals questions in English and complete the shopping race! Everyone found what they needed (except postcards, turns out Eastleigh didn’t sell any!)
๐ŸŽจ Creative got straight to baking! Campers were split into teams to bake chocolate cookies in the morning and afternoon. They were judged on taste, appearance, teamwork, and recipe reading skills. The best part? Everyone got to enjoy the cookies afterward!
๐ŸŒฒ Adventure went on a fun walk to the river, they got to swim, swing across the river, and even a surprise visit from a friendly dog splashing in the water! In the afternoon, they returned to the high ropes for more climbing fun.
๐Ÿ Sports played cricket and rounders in the morning, then had some water fun in the afternoon with a competitive game of water polo!
๐ŸŒ YGL got to explore leadership values, set personal goals, and discussed how to handle difficult conversations in a workplace. They also got started planning their own upcoming event! What is it? Find out in 2 days!

After another amazing day, campers had some phone time and a really yummy dinner. Then it was time to relax for movie night with a screening of Ratatouille! ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿฟ

That’s it for today, L&E UK out!

Thursday 17th July

Day 4 was one of the funniest days of this week!
Hereโ€™s a look at everything that went down:

A group of campers took a trip to Oxford, where they visited the world-famous Oxford University and stopped by Blackwellโ€™s Bookshop. They had fun shopping and exploring the city.

๐ŸŒฒ Adventure campers had a full day outdoors: Campfire cooking with bananas and pancakes then jumping in the river to cool off during their adventure walk. They also got to go canoeing and had an suprise round of lasertag
๐Ÿ‰ Sports spent the morning playing benchball then the afternoon playing rugby and football.
๐ŸŽจ Creative got really into colour theory: learning how to mix colours, create a colour wheel, and exploring monotone paintings. They also started crafting props for the eveningโ€™s big eventโ€ฆ

Theme Night: Celebrities in the Jungle! ๐ŸŒด
Campers competed in hilarious, wild challenges that had everyone cheering, screaming, and laughing:

๐ŸŽ Mystery Boxes โ€“ campers had to touch mystery items and guess what they were to win a star
๐Ÿฌ Jelly Bowl Worms โ€“ heads went into jelly bowls to find hidden gummy worms
๐Ÿ Spaghetti-O Slip & Slide โ€“ campers raced on a slide covered in Spaghetti-Os to collect hidden stars
๐Ÿ› Bug-Eating Challenge โ€“ brave campers ate worms, crickets, and century eggs
๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Blindfolded Obstacle Course โ€“ one camper was blindfolded while teammates guided them through the course

It was messy, wacky, and completely unforgettable!
After cleaning off the spaghetti and jelly, everyone headed to bed, still laughing about the night’s wildest moments.

Friday 18th July

We’ve made it 5 days into camp!

๐ŸŽจ Creative kicked things off with a dance lesson, where campers learned new moves to use during our evening event!
๐ŸŒฒ Adventure set out on an adventure walk, taking in the fresh air and getting a splash in the river.
๐ŸŽพ Sports headed to the courts for a great session of tennis

In the afternoon, we pressed pause on regular activities to make way for something specialโ€ฆ
๐ŸŽฒ The Table Top Tournament, run by our YGL (Young Global Leaders) campers! Everyone took part in camp-wide challenges like table tennis, air hockey and table soccer. It was all about strategy, quick thinking, and team spirit.

Instead of pool time, the slip and slide made its return! Campers raced, slid, and splashed their way through the afternoon sun.

After a bit of phone time and dinner, it was time for one of campโ€™s most special traditionsโ€ฆ

๐ŸŒŸ The Camp Oscars! ๐ŸŒŸ
An event full of laughter, cheers, and celebration. Campers received fun awards for their efforts and personalities throughout the week. The nightโ€™s biggest honor, Star Camper, was awarded to someone who truly stood out with kindness, teamwork, and leadership.
We also presented a highlight video with all the unforgettable moments from the week.

The night wrapped up with a disco party, where everyone hit the dance floor and celebrated an incredible week of memories.

Saturday 19th July

Day 6 loading….

Last day of the week before new arrivals was bittersweet with some campers having to say goodbye. Remaining campers had a fun day trip to Winchester, while leaving campers made their departures.

Campers got to wander Winchester, some went shopping for goodies, others had a look around the town and some got hungry so they decided to get some tasty food from local restaurants.

After getting back evening activities were a range of things including:

Swim session

Basketball session

Movie Night screening Rio

Football watching France vs Germany

The night ended with everyone tired, ready for bed and preparing for their next day outing

Sunday 20th July

The camp felt a little quieter this morning as we said goodbye to some of our campers heading home. But for those still here, the day was far from over!

The remaining campers went on a beach trip to Bournemouth for a relaxing day by the sea. The weather wasn’t perfect, but spirits were high – there were sandy games, seaside walks, and plenty of laughs as everyone made the most of the day!

Meanwhile, back at camp… a surprise was in the works: NEW CAMPERS ARRIVING!

Every hour more friendly faces arrived, and our returning campers were so excited to welcome them with big smiles and open arms.

We even hosted a barbecue where a few parents stayed to enjoy some food before saying their goodbyes.

In the evening, we brought everyone together for some icebreaker games, helping new and old campers get to know each other.

As the sun set, campers headed to bed tired, happy, and ready for a brand new week of adventure!
