UK Summer Camp Begins: Sunday, 12 July

Our UK International Summer Camp kicked off in full swing today and what an incredible first day it has been! We were thrilled to welcome campers from around the world as they arrived ready for an unforgettable summer.

A special welcome also goes to our teen travel group who joined us after completing their week-long trip to london, exploring some of the UK’s most iconic destinations. They were very excited to share stories from their journey and settle into camp along with our new arrivals.

After everyone got settled into their rooms enjoying a delicious barbecue outside, we all gathered on the lawn for some icebreaker games, including the returning fan-favourite, Traitors! Campers then had some free time to play games and socialise before getting ready for bed. And what better way to end the evening than with a little storytelling?

First Full Day at Camp: Monday, 13 July

Day 1 of L&E Camp UK arrived, and everyone was excited to get started! After our morning tradition of breakfast and dodgeball, everyone split up for their morning activities.

Our YGL (Young Global Leader) campers took part in discussions that explored the qualities of a great leader, while Sports hosted their own mini Olympics. Meanwhile, our adventurous campers headed to the river to cool off, take in the scenery, and create some beautiful drawings inspired by the landscape.

The afternoon was packed with creativity as campers showed off their singing and dancing skills during karaoke and Just Dance. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) came rolling in with their spaghetti and marshmallows bridge-building challenge. Across the field, campers were channeling their inner football players during Sports.

The day ended with our main Icebreakers, like Stuffy Bunny, the wheatbix eating competition, the after 8 challenge, and finally ended with a race rolling down the hill.

After some well-earned downtime, an intense game of cards, and getting ready for bed, the campers brought their fun-filled first day to a close.

Stay tuned for our next update!

Campfire and France vs Spain: Tuesday, 14 July

Day 2 was another action-packed day at Camp UK! After breakfast and our intense morning game of dodgeball, campers headed off to their morning activities.

Sports got everyone moving with Ultimate Frisbee, while YGL focused on the importance of communication and working together as a team using marshmallows and spaghetti towers. In STEAM, campers put their instructions following and building skills to the test by building their own robots.

The afternoon was full of adventure as campers went away for bushcraft, learning how to build dens and safely make a fire. Back on the courts, Sports continued with some fast-paced badminton, where campers enjoyed friendly competition.

As the sun began to set, everyone gathered around the campfire for scary stories, songs, and laughs. Our new staff members introduced themselves through fun songs and talents. One of the many things they get to enjoy from being at L&E is the cultural diversity; everyone got to share their national anthems as part of our campfire traditions.

To finish off the day, everyone settled into the common room to watch the France vs Spain semi-final before heading off to bed after another fantastic day at camp.

See you next time!

Trashionshow: Wednesday, 15 July

Day 3 of L&E World Camp UK was full of creativity, teamwork, and adventure!

After breakfast, creative campers put their imagination to work by painting mecha chameleons and hiding them around the building, while Sports took to the courts for some tennis. In STEAM, campers explored the world of coding through Scratch programming. Meanwhile, our YGL group enjoyed a trip to the river, taking in the scenery while spending time together outdoors.

The afternoon kept the fun going as Creative campers made colourful friendship bracelets to take home. Sports switched to some exciting basketball games, while our adventurous campers hit the water for an afternoon of canoeing, putting their teamwork and paddling skills to the test.

The day finished with one of our favourite evening events, the Trashion Show! Campers transformed everyday materials into imaginative outfits before showing them off on the runway. We got some amazing photos of their runway walks, which will be shared on @learnandexperience247 To end another fantastic day at camp, everyone gathered in the common room to watch the England vs Argentina match before heading to bed.

Keep tuning in!

L&E Oscars Award Night: Thursday-Friday, 14 & 15 July

Days 4 and 5 of Camp UK led us to an emotional and happy ending of the first week with our 🏆 Oscars Night 🏆 . Campers completed their activities and started some of our best evenings.

On day 4, our evening activity was a World Cup-inspired game of corrupt football with Italy vs Scotland. Our players (the campers) were very motivated to win and proud of their teams. In the end, Italy won the match after the referee broke the tie by declaring Italy was less corrupt. Scotland was playing checkers, but Italy was playing chess.

Day 5 brought our long-awaited Oscars Awards night. Congratulations to all the campers who won awards and to all nominees. We’ve truly enjoyed having the campers who were here for this week. Everyone said goodbye to their friends and spent time making more memories before bedtime.

Time for a new week, see you next time!
