Halfway Through Summer Camp: Sunday, 26 July

Week 3 of L&E Camp UK is now in progress! We started the day with a relaxed 9 am breakfast, a short rain shower, and a trip to the beach for our remaining summer campers from L&E World Camp Week 2!

Back at home base, staff prepared to collect and welcome new campers coming from all around the world.

Our campers at Bournemouth beach enjoyed some fun in the sun after the weather turned around. Many got food and enjoyed shopping while others spent their time swimming and playing arcade games.

Campers returned to camp excited to greet old friends and meet new ones. Everyone was so full of energy we decided to do icebreakers on the big field so that campers had room to get to know each other.

After unpacking and getting some well-deserved rest from long journeys, campers were ready to take on the next day!

Are you just as ready to hear about it?

Icebreakers: Monday, 27 July

L&E UK is now halfway through summer camp. After welcoming a bunch of new campers, day 14 marked the start of their official stay.

Sports got into gymnastics in the morning and showed their skills through choreography. Creative started making their own memorabilia using old L&E merch. Young Global Leaders came back in full swing for this week, starting off with their classic leadership pizza. Meanwhile, on the other side of camp, Adventure had an intense capture the flag competition.

After having lunch, campers moved onto afternoon activities. The choices were between tennis, collage making and archery, and campers evenly divided between them all.

We then finished off the day with icebreakers. The games were fun and definitely broke sone ice. Afterward campers were tired and ready to take on the next day.

See you tomorrow!

Campfire and Marshmallows: Tuesday, 28 July

Day 15 of Camp UK was incredibly busy and full of fun activities, but nothing brought more excitement than our weekly evening activity…Campfire Night!

The morning started with a tackle in Sports during rugby and relaxed a bit with postcard making in Creative. Campers got to send their postcards after a short lesson on formatting addresses on envelopes. Meanwhile, Adventure had a blast going to the river; most campers opted for some fun in the sun.

We had a short break before jumping into afternoon activities. And there was some serious jumping going on in Basketball, as Sport campers competed to get the ball in the hoop. Our creative and adventure campers started preparing for campfire early with a songwriting workshop and a bushcraft session where they got to build dens and make fires.

And finally we all gathered around the campfire for our evening activity. There were so many songs to share and stories to tell. But that’s not what all campers were waiting for; marshmallows and cookies at the end were the main attraction.

Our evening activity for tomorrow is a complete secret; stay tuned to find out!

Trashionshow: Wednesday, 29 July

Camp Netflix Theme Night: Thursday, 30 July

Some of our campers headed off to London for the day, exploring the city and visiting sites like Big Ben, The London Eye, Leicester Square, and Soho. They also went shopping for toys at Hamleys before returning to camp with lots of stories to share. Back at camp, everyone else got stuck into their activities, while our Adventure group spent the afternoon taking on the high ropes course, climbing high above the ground and cheering each other on.

As the evening arrived, it was time for one of our most creative theme nights yet… Netflix Night! Campers became the stars of their own Netflix Studio Tour, travelling from set to set and completing different challenges along the way.

From apple bobbing at the Wednesday stage and a waffle eating contest inspired by Stranger Things, to escaping the Prison Break escape room, showing off their singing skills at the KPop Demon Hunters idol auditions, and even learning ballroom dancing in the world of Bridgerton, there was never a dull moment!

After a night full of laughter and a little bit of friendly competition, our campers headed off to bed. Many were thinking about what to do on their final day. Find out more tomorrow!

Oscars Night: Friday, 31 July

The final day of Week 3 was here before we knew it, and what better way to end another amazing week than with our weekly Oscars Night!

The day was a little more relaxed as campers enjoyed their final activities, packed their bags, and spent as much time as they could with the friends they’d made throughout the week.

As the evening arrived, it was time to celebrate! Campers dressed up for our Oscars Awards Night, where we recognised some of the unforgettable moments and amazing people that made Week 3 feel so special. Congratulations to all of our award winners and nominees!

Although it’s always difficult saying goodbye, we’re so grateful for all the memories we’ve made together this week. We hope everyone travelling home has an amazing journey, and we can’t wait to see some familiar faces again in the future.
